Sweet & Salty Oreo Christmas Bark

Sweet & Salty Oreo Holiday Bark | Little Kitchen, Big Bites

We went to Disneyland on Wednesday, and when Santa passed in the parade, he said “Only eight more days until Christmas!”  And I said “huh?!” and I actually wanted to take out my phone and check the date.  Even though we’re going through all of the motions and the holiday parties and the Christmas decorations everywhere and jingle bells on repeat in the car, I still feel like it was September like three days ago.  This time of year just flies and, especially with my chatty little toddler, I want to slow it all down and enjoy every last second of it.

On a side note, this was my first time at Disneyland over the holidays {I somehow always seem to land there for Halloween but haven’t made it yet for Christmas} and it was really magical guys.  Disney is special enough as is, but with the garland and the lights and It’s A Small World is like full on Christmas-ified and they sing jingle bells too which is my kid’s very favorite song of the moment and Elsa and Ana in the parade {Let It Go was the favorite song prior to jingle bells} it was pretty amazing.  I found myself tearing up a little sitting with her snuggled in my lap on the curb on Main Street, watching the parade begin.  So if you haven’t been yet, I highly recommend it.

Anyway, one of the reasons that time flies so fast are the many parties and activities that we’ve been enjoying this holiday season, including our annual holiday party, for which this delicious little treat was created.  Alternate name for this treat is “throw everything that a toddler dreams of eating on a pan…and then cover it in chocolate.”  And you can totally add/remove/whatever what speaks to you.  We had some nut allergies at the party, but I think this would be spectacular with some salted nuts thrown in too.

This was the easiest thing that I made for the party {the rest of the dessert spread is pictured below…cupcakes were boxed cake, boxed icing with crushed peppermint stirred in, cookie bars are here and were amazing, and everything else is from a store…because I’m lazy.}.  It was no bake and no cook.  Spread everything on a pan, heat up the chocolate in the microwave, and pour it on top.  Heavenly.

PS While we’re talking holidays, here’s my kid with Santa to brighten your day.  Or to make you call Child Protective Services.  She really does like him.  Just not when she’s on his lap. #santafail
